Ethiopia seizes back an Eritrean city

The Ethiopian government on Wednesday announced that it has restored back Ktesini city, Southern west Eritrea in Ethiopian counter attacks.
In a statement released on Wednesday in Addis Ababa, the Ethiopian government said the Ethiopian forces carried out on Saturday a military operation on the western front in response to the attacks made by the Ethiopian forces last week and that the Ethiopian forces were first attacked during their withdrawal from the western front, according to a political decision from the Ethiopian government. The statement added that the Eritrean forces also attacked the forefront defense positions of the Ethiopian army.
Meantime, Ethiopia's foreign minister said on Wednesday that it is more expectedly that his country will positive react to the cease-fire plan drawn by the Organization of African Unity (OAU).
He told journalists that this matter ( the OAU plan) is decided by the Ethiopian government to take a decision on this proposal after discussions. He added that Addis Ababa's answer will be issued in the coming days before the end of this week, noting that the Ethiopian cabinet met on Tuesday after noon, to this effect.
Meantime, Eritrea on Wednesday announced that battles between the Eritrean and Ethiopian army are taking place on the western front of fighting between the two countries at a time when the eastern front in Asab area undergoes to intensive artillery bombardment.
The spokesman for Eritrea's presidency admitted that the town of Goloug, Southern west Asmara fell in the hands of Addis Ababa forces.
He explained that the Ethiopians are in Goloug and that the battles are taking place around this town.
He added that an intensive artillery bombardment is taking place on Asab front to the east while calm prevails on the central front ( Senafi).
For its part Addis Ababa said that the fighting on the western front are taking place in the surrounding of the Eritrean city of Teisini, Southern west, where the Ethiopian army, which had seized Goloug on June 11, stressed it had intensified counter attacks.
