Morocco's foreign trade totals over $ 1.4 bln up to jan.2000

Morocco's international trade transactions totaled up to last January $ 1.47 Billion, increasing by 27.3% compared to last year, says the latest newsletter of the Exchange Office.
In the same period, imports increased by 38% with a value of $ 886 million while exports, worth $ 580 million recording a 13.9% growth.
Meanwhile, Morocco's trade deficit worsened between Jan. 1999 and Jan.2000 to reach $ 301 mln, compared to $ 124 mln in Jan.99. The rate of exports' coverage of imports went from 80% in Jan.99 to 66% in Jan.2000.
