Moroccan territory planning minister confers with Algerian parliament speakers

Moroccan minister in charge of territory development, environment, urbanism and housing, Mohamed El Yazghi, held separate meetings here Sunday with speakers of the Algerian National popular Assembly and of the nation's Council (Senate), Abdelkader Bensaleh and Bachir Boumaza.
The El Yazghi-Bensaleh talks were held in a brotherly climate and covered the situation in the two countries and the efforts being made to cope with some problems such as struggle against drought and unemployment and promotion of the rural world.
The Moroccan official surveyed the Kingdom's experience, led by King Mohammed VI, in matters of solidarity and the people's mobilization to fight the incidence of drought as well as the budgets earmarked to promote the rural world through roads construction, electrification and water supply.
Bensaleh who touched on the drought affecting Algeria and on his country's agricultural development program voiced admiration for Morocco's successful dam experience.
Both sides underlined the importance of parliamentary cooperation as a tool for viewpoints rapprochement.
El Yazghi's meeting with Boumaza focused on the historical relations of the common struggle binding the two peoples and stressed the need to energize such relations to the benefit of mounting generations.
The similarity of problems and the globalization challenges should prompt the two countries to consolidate their cooperation, the two sides said, underlining the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in rapprochement between peoples.
El Yazghi, who was visiting Algeria to take part in the Arab Thought Forum conference held in Algiers June 10-12, had earlier conferred with his Algerian peer, Mohamed Boughazi, on the two countries' experience in matters of territory planning and environment protection.
