Baath Party 9th regional congress to be convened at set time

The Baath party regional leadership on Saturday evening held a meeting attended by all its members and chaired by the assistant regional secretary of the Baath party Suleiman Qaddah, SANA reported.
The Baath party leadership decided unanimously to nominate Bashar al-Assad to the post of President of the republic.
Meantime, Qaddah stressed the 9th congress of the Baath party will be held at its set time on Saturday, June 17.
In a statement to SANA's director general, Qaddah said that despite of the catastrophe befalling the country, " President Hafez al-Assad had taught us to proceed forward in our work and to continue our march, always dedicating our efforts to serve the causes of the homeland and the Arab nation."
