Gulf, Economics, 6/12/2000

The ministers of planning and development in the Gulf Cooperation Council states on Saturday concluded works of their 9th session, held under the leadership of the Saudi minister of planning Khaled al-Quseibi.

In a statement following the meeting, the secretary general of the GCC Sheikh Jamil al-Hujeilan said the ministers reviewed what have been reached so far by the workshops and work priorities of the ministry of planning during the coming phase.

Al-Hujeilan indicated that the most important recommendations approved by the ministers are to revitalize the Arab Gulf labor force through linking education and training programs to the requirements of the labor markets and implanting positive attitudes and conceptions towards working, facilitating the investment and transfer of the national labor forces of the GCC member states and drawing development and training programs for the Gulf labor.
