Syrian Baath party nominates Bashar al-Assad for president

The Syrian leadership of the Baath on Saturday evening held a meeting, attended by all its members, chaired by the assistant regional secretary of the Baath party. The leadership, unanimously, decided to nominate Bashar al-Assad for the post of President of the Republic.
