Imam of al-Aqsa Mosque: We will not give up Jerusalem as a capital

Mufti of al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem Sheik Ekrema Sabri assured the Palestinian people's refusal to give up Jerusalem and their determination to declare it as a capital of the independent Palestinian State. In declarations at his arrival at Cairo to participate in meetings of the 12th session of the supreme council for the Islamic affairs which are to begin tomorrow - he said that the Palestinian people reject what is repeated by Israel that the Palestinian capital would be some place other else than Jerusalem. he also expressed his appreciation to Egypt's role in backing the Palestinian cause.
