UN High Commissioner for refugees in Sudan

The head of the UN refugee agency, High Commissioner Sadako Ogata arrived today at Khartoum beginning her tour during which she will visit six countries in East and Central Africa to evaluate the effects of the African regional wars.
Official sources in the African area said that Sadako will discuss with the officials in the area and in the organization of the African unity - the support presented by the commissariat to the refugees.
The sources added that focus is on "the Eritrean ones in Sudan who form a burden on the Sudanese government," adding that the area effects the commissariat's efforts in providing support to the refugees in the rest of the world. She will return from her tour to Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo on June 24 .
