Shaath: Palestine ask for support from donor countries
Palestine, Economics, 6/10/2000

Palestinian international cooperation and planning minister Nabeel Shaath stated following his return from the general annual conference of "donor countries" that his delegation raised the view of the Palestinian government regarding development needs in order to establish a Palestinian state.

He told the donor countries -- countries that provide economic assistance to the Palestinians -- that support is needed to finance the Palestinian refugees' return, to construct a northern security passage between Gaza and the West Bank, to construct Gaza harbor, to develop the infrastructure of the Palestinian villages and cities including Jerusalem as the coming Palestinian capital.

He urged the countries to pay the rest of the commitments they made to the Palestinian government.
