Regional, Economics, 6/9/2000
The financial control committee, set up by the executive council of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), commended the policy of austerity and rationalization followed by the ISESCO's director general and soundness of ISESCO's financial and administrative situation.
In the report released at the end of its annual proceedings held in Rabat Thursday, the financial control committee hailed the implementation of activities and programs as well as the optimal utilization of available human and financial resources.
The committee also noted with satisfaction the ISESCO's expansion and its efforts to involve as much as possible the international and regional organization in the implementation of its programs, which would inevitably alleviate its financial burden.
The committee requested the executive council to set up an effective mechanism liable to secure regular payment by the member States of their contributions to the organization's budget.
The financial control committee is made up of the representatives of five member States, namely, Azerbaijan, Chad, United Arab Emirates, Egypt and Mauritania.
