Gulf states tackle development issues tomorrow
Gulf, Economics, 6/9/2000

The development and planning ministers in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states are convening tomorrow their 9th meeting at the headquarters of the council's general trusteeship in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).

The secretary general of the economic affairs Algan Bin Ali El Kawari said "the ministers will discuss recommendations reached in a symposium that was held in Bahrain in last February concerning the establishment of a technical and scientific (labor) base."

"The role of Gulf labor in the economic and social development" will be discussed as well as the recommendations of the undersecretaries committee and the development and planning bodies in its preparation for the meeting, he said. These were the recomendations of the GCC meeting in Qatar last April.

The meeting tackles results of the symposium held in May in Bahrain on the joint Gulf projects development and the challenges facing them .
