Damascus: senior army official stabbed to death

Medical sources in Damascus told the London-based al-Hayat daily that the chairman of the University Military Training department ( in Syria all university male students should undergo military training as a weekly subject in the curricula) Lt. Gen. Khalil Khudr was found killed in his flat on Monday after being knifed by 16 stabs and that investigations carried out by the military intelligence indicated no " political intention behind this crime." The sources remarked to al-Hayat that Khudr's car was missing from the front of his house at al-Qazzazin quarters, southern Damascus, where he is guarded by the security forces.
