King- Chaired Ministers' Council approves development plan

Morocco's King Mohammed VI chaired on Wednesday in Marrakesh a ministers' council that adopted a series of laws, related to finances of local councils, the stock market, the National Drinking Water Authority (ONEP) and the social and economic development plan.

According to the palace official spokesman, Hassan Aourid, the king insisted on priorities he had set in his speech at the opening of the parliament fall session, mainly improving education quality, promoting job-creation while taking into account the need to maintain major economic balances and the need to curb the budget deficit to 3%.

The king also heard a presentation on the economic and social development plan. Goals set to be fulfilled by the plan are the promotion of a legal, administrative and regulating atmosphere encouraging investments, upgrading human resources, consolidating social development and reducing social gaps.
