Ethiopia repels Eritrean attack on eastern front

Addis Ababa announced on Tuesday evening that it has repelled an attack carried out by the Eritrean forces targeted the eastern front.
A government statement in Addis Ababa said the Ethiopian forces confronted at Bori front an attack carried out by the Eritrean army which suffered great human losses. The statement explained that the situation was calm on other fronts.
Meantime, the Ethiopian army chief of staff said that Eritrea's "war machine" was broken as a result of the intensive Ethiopian attacks inside Eritrean territories, where large amounts of military equipment were seized.
The state run Ethiopian daily Herald said on Wednesday quoting the said Ethiopian official as saying that Eritrea has become in a position that " does not permit again (attempts to) undermine Ethiopia's sovereignty."
He added that during the recent decisive military operations, the Ethiopian forces defeated 14 divisions out of the total Eritrean army composed of 24 divisions, adding that the remaining 10 divisions also suffered great human and material losses. He added that his country's forces also gained several tanks, and military equipment from the defeated Eritrean army.
