Egyptian minister appointed new secretary for the Arab economic unity council

Former Egyptian minister of commerce and supply Ahmad Gweili has assumed his new post as a new secretary general for the Arab economic unity council for five years in succession of the former Secretary General Hassan Ibrahim who served for 12 years at the council.
The new secretary general had took the legal oath before the council at the ministerial level, in the presence of the secretary general of the Arab League Ismat Abdul Miguid.
To this effect, Abdul Miguid stressed that the elections of Gweili for the post of the secretary general of the council which was established in 1964 will give a new impetus to this council in being one of the important councils which serves joint Arab economic work.
