424 demands for investment in Yemen

Head of the general organization for the Yemeni free zones Derham Noaman said that the government received 424 investment requests during the first quarter of the current year - clarifying that the capital expected to be invested in the projects reaches 13.5 billion riyal (i.e $ 404 million) which will provide 10,000 new work opportunities.

The free zone in Eden received 748 demands from local, Arab and foreign companies for establishing projects whose value exceed 1.5 billion US dollars since year 1991 till end of last March.

Moaman said that work will begin soon on preparing the basic structure of the first stage of an industrial zone and will be implemented by the Singaporean company G.T.S at a cost of 2 million dollars to be completed in November.
