Kuwait-Iraq, Politics, 6/7/2000
The total amount Kuwait spent from "reserves of the coming generations fund" between 1991 to 1999 reached 24.617 billion Dinars that were used in the reconstruction following the end of the Iraqi invasion and confronting the financial commitments in the general budget.
Sources in the general organization for Kuwaiti investment said that the organization gained good revenue on its external investments as the profit-on-investment average returns varied between 9% - 11% for the financial year 1999 - 2000.
Governmental sources said that the investment policy followed by the organization is focused on more liquid assets to meet financial commitments which are mostly in form of shares, bonds, and direct investments. The organization reduced its real estate investments due the difficult of converting it to money.
