Moroccan youth council, French economic and social council hold annual meeting in Paris
Morocco-France, Culture, 6/7/2000
The Moroccan council for youth and the future (CNJA) and France's economic and social council (CES) are holding their annual meeting in Paris this June 6-7 to explore partnership opportunities between the two advisory institutions.
The two councils, which hold an annual meeting alternately in Rabat and Paris, are discussing this year the role of social partners in social cohesion and economic efficiency, vocational training in agriculture and the contribution of advisory bodies to the promotion of democracy.
CNJA secretary general, Habib Malki, proposed at the opening session that the boards of the two institutions hold periodical meetings every six months to assess the economic situation and identify the priority sectors of their cooperation.
He invited the CES to convene one of its meetings in Morocco and expressed the CNJA wish to benefit from the French institution's expertise to set up a national center of associative movement. The center, he said, would deal among others with environment protection, struggle against poverty and illiteracy, and the social problems related to women and children.
At the Mediterranean level, he suggested the setting up of a joint committee that would explore new cooperation and partnership opportunities.
The CNJA delegation is made up of delegates of professional organizations, employers, trade unions and youth associations.
