Morocco's ambassador to Lebanon hands credentials to President Lahoud
Lebanon-Morocco, Politics, 6/7/2000

Morocco's newly appointed ambassador to Lebanon, Abdeljalil Fenjiro, on Tuesday handed his credentials to the Lebanese President Emile Lahoud.

During the meeting, President Lahoud hailed the brotherly relations existing between Morocco and Lebanon and the friendship binding the two people. He voiced admiration for the action conducted by Morocco and by King Mohammed VI on the Arab scene and especially with regard to Lebanon.

Lahoud expressed thanks to the Moroccan people for their backing to and sympathy with Lebanon and said he had been deeply moved by the congratulations message he received from King Mohammed VI after the liberation of Southern Lebanon.

President Lahoud also recalled with deep emotion the memory of the Late King Hassan II who devoted, he said, all his life to Arab causes, to the Palestinian cause, to the liberation of the occupied Arab territories and to the restoration of peace, understanding and stability in Lebanon.

Lebanese Premier and foreign minister, Salim al Hoss, attended the meeting.

Fenjiro, who headed the Moroccan news agency MAP from 1974 to 1999, was appointed as Morocco's ambassador to Lebanon last April, in replacement of Ali M'hamedi.
