Gabonese delegation meets Moroccan officials
Morocco-Gabon, Politics, 6/7/2000
A visiting Gabonese ministerial delegation, led by state minister of foreign affairs and cooperation Jean Ping, started Monday talks in Rabat with Moroccan officials on means of bolstering bilateral cooperation.
The Gabonese delegation, which comprises the defense, agriculture and trade, tourism, industrial development and handicraft ministers, examined with Moroccan officials ways to re-launch bilateral cooperation in defense, agriculture, tourism and trade.
The two sides deplored the low level of economic cooperation which remains below the political relations binding the two countries, stressing the need to promote bilateral trade exchanges by increasing meetings and consultations to explore new areas for cooperation.
Moroccan officials voiced firm will to diversify and develop cooperation with Gabon especially in oil and gas and called Moroccan and Gabonese economic operators to lower all obstacles to give momentum to bilateral relations.
The Gabonese delegation started Sunday a work visit to Morocco.
