Iran, Iraq exchange remains of their soldiers

The Iraqi official in charge of the Iraqi war prisoners and missing Fahmi al-Qeisi said that Iraq and Iran will resume the exchange of remains of their soldiers who were killed in the war between the two countries, erupted between 1980 and 1988.
He explained that the remains of 300 Iraqis and 65 Iranians will be exchanged at the border point of Shalmaja in Southern Iraq. He remarked that the exchange of soldiers remains embodies resumption of works of a joint team in charge of searching for the missing in fighting between the two sides.
Al-Qeisi added that Iran handed over Iraq the remains of 1200 Iraqi soldiers since 1999.
The last time when the two sides exchanged bodies of soldiers killed during the war was in June 1999 when they exchanged the remains of 47 Iranian and 59 Iraqis.
