Saudi Arabia and the embargo on Iraq
Saudi Arabia-Iraq, Politics, 6/7/2000

The second deputy for the Saudi Premier and defense minister prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz on Monday rejected accusations addressed by Baghdad to both Saudi Arabia and Kuwait in that they refuse to lift the sanctions imposed on Iraq.

In a statement he made after the graduation ceremony of a new course of King Faisal's air academy, Prince Sultan said " we do not refuse the lifting of the embargo imposed on Iraq. To the contrary, if Iraq accepts the resolutions of the UN Security Council resolution it will preserve the interests of its people."

Prince Sultan also denied what was announced by Iraq concerning the return back of the remains of a Saudi pilot.
