Jordanian King and the ME peace

Jordanian King Abdullah II has stated that Israel's withdrawal of its forces from South Lebanon has created a golden chance to establish peace in the Middle East.
In a speech he delivered on Monday before the international affairs council in Los Angeles, the Jordanian King revealed that this withdrawal reveals that Israel is sincere in its desire to establish peace with its neighbor.. And this is a golden opportunity to establish peace in our region."
The King added that he has recently met with Syrian President Hafez al-Assad and that there was " a happy surprise " in the tone of optimism the Syrian president showed towards the stumbled peace talks with Israel.
The Jordanian King added that Syria wants peace, noting that " there can be peace in the Middle East and it can be attained swiftly. Israel, Syria, Lebanon, and Palestine all want peace."
