Arab League chief receives message, confers with Swedish delegation

The secretary general of the Arab League (AL) Ismat Abdul el-Maguid on Monday received a message from the secretary general of the African Unity Organization Salem Ahmad Salem, inviting him to attend the next African summit that will be held in Togo, Lumi on July 10 to 12.
The message was handed over by the ambassador of the African Unity Organization Shaaban Qashout to the Arab League during his meeting with Abdul Miguid on Monday in Cairo.
In another development, Abdul el-Maguid has underlined the importance of achieving a just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East region according to international legitimacy resolutions and the land for peace formula.
During his meeting on Monday with a Swedish delegation including diplomacy experts led by the Swedish ambassador to Lebanon Anne Rasmour, the Al chief praised the Lebanese national resistance, expressing hope to have just and comprehensive peace prevailed in the Middle East region through attaining hopes and ambitions of the Palestinian people to the establishment of their own independent state with Jerusalem as a capital and Israel's withdrawal from the whole of the Golan until June 4 1967 border lines.
Worthy mentioning, the Swedish parliamentary delegation is visiting Egypt in the framework of a tour that covers several countries in the ME region.
