Palestinian leader says visit to Laayoune is token of support to Morocco's territorial integrity
Morocco-Palestine, Politics, 6/5/2000

Secretary general of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (FDLP), Naief Hawatmeh, said his visit to Laayoune, major city of Morocco's southern provinces, comes as a token for the Palestinian support to the kingdom's territorial integrity.

Hawatmeh who arrived in Laayoun Sunday told the media the visit to the city shows that the Palestinian people supports Morocco's struggle to perfect its territorial integrity.

The Palestinian leader visited the city port and met local executives of the koutla parties (former opposition parties) and representatives of non-governmental organizations.

Hawatmeh is visiting Morocco at the invitation of the Organization of Democratic and Popular Action (OADP/leftist).

The Palestinian leader further said that the Palestinian cause is going through a crucial stage and needs to deepen debate with Moroccans who also fought for independence and territorial integrity.
