Damascus expects continued U.S efforts for pushing Syrian - Israeli forward
Syria-Israel, Politics, 6/5/2000

Damascus assured that it expects continued U.S efforts for pushing forward the Syrian - Israeli peace negotiations despite of the approach of the U.S presidential elections and the end of the term of President Bill Clinton.

A Syrian diplomatic source told ArabicNews.com that US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright's visit to the area comes in the framework of Clinton's efforts for achieving a remarkable progress on the Syrian and Lebanese tracks and at the same time, the central leadership of the Progressive National Front - the highest political front in Syria - assured the necessity of not giving up the Syrian and Lebanese rights at signing any final agreements for peace.

The Progressive National Front has also demanded the necessity of remarking the borders between Beirut and Tel Aviv to prevent any future problems.
