$ 3.5 billion in Middle East trade volume with Hong Kong

The exchange trade volume between Middle East and Hong Kong during 1999 reached 3.5 billion dollars. A press statement issued by Hong Kong trade development council for the occasion of opening its regional bureau in Dubai said that Hong Kong's imports from the area have increased to 1.3 billion dollars during the first quarter of the last year - referring that opening the regional bureau of the area in Dubai aims at enhancing and developing the commercial relations with M.E area in addition to the long run plan to exist in the promising markets like Middle East and South East Asia.
