Cairo to host seminar on Palestinian economic development prospects

A UN seminar on Palestinian economic development prospects and the Middle- East peace process will be held this June 20-21 in Cairo.

The meeting, organized by the UN committee on the exercise of the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, will address issues related to institution-building, economic performance during the interim period and Palestinian development objectives and strategies.

Participants will also look into Israeli-Palestinian economic relations during the interim period, the impact of non-economic issues such as Israeli settlements, Al Quds (Jerusalem), Palestinian refugees, water and natural resources on sustained Palestinian economic and social development.

The meeting will be attended by Palestinian and Israeli experts, representatives of donors, United Nations Agencies and NGOs.
