Palestinian authority council asks Israel to present new ideas
Palestine-Israel, Politics, 5/29/2000
The Palestinian national government's council said that achieving any progress in the peace process depends on Israel's coming back to the negotiations with new ideas. Israel halted the talks with the Palestinians being held in Sweden to retaliate against the wide violence that erupted by Palestinian youths against Israeli forces in the West Bank and Gaza Strip recently.
The talks aim at putting a framework for an agreement that leads to a final peace treaty between the two sides concerning the status of the Palestinian lands in September.
