Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak held a meeting with the Palestinian President Yasser Arafat who arrived yesterday evening to Cairo on a 2-day visit, saying that the Israeli withdrawal from south Lebanon is a necessary step that must be followed by others in order to achieve complete peace in the area and UN resolution must be applied by the complete withdrawal from all Lebanese and Syrian territories as well as the Palestinian lands which is the substance of the real peace in the area. Eleven formations of U.S and U.K warplanes on Friday, May 26, 2000 carried out 8 sorties from Saudi airspace and 14 sorties from Kuwait and flying over areas in the provinces of Basra, Meisan, Thi-Qar, Muthanna, Qadissiya and Najaf. Iraq's missile force and antiaircraft artillery drove the warplanes out of national airspace back to their basis in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, the Iraqi news agency said. Go
