Living cost index progresses by 0.7% in March

Morocco's living cost index increased by 0.7% in March 2000, compared with February, and by 2.4% compared to March 1999, said the statistics department in its monthly newsletter.

The progression was mainly noted in food products ("1.4%) while non-food products recorded a slight 0.1% increase.

The statistics department said the most significant living cost index progressions were recorded in the cities of Laayoune (1.8%), Agadir (1.1%) and Meknes and Tangiers (1.1%).
