Chairman of the Iraqi planning commission Hassan Abdul Menem said that the commission is seeking to prepare a clear plan to withstand the water crisis. And this plan to be implemented annually and will continue until the year 2-15.
The Iraqi weekly al-Thawra, issued on Friday quoted Abdul Menem as saying that it is not a secret that Turkey is building large dams, a situation which pushed Iraq to exert tremendous efforts to draw a plan to avoid having a water crisis.
The Iraqi official explained that it was decided to carry out gigantic projects in the area for dealing with the water problem.
