Speaker of the Israeli Knesset Avraham Burg: the current year will witness signing an agreement between Israel and Palestine

Speaker of the Israeli Knesset Avraham Burg stated that Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak is considered one of the great leaders in the Middle East area for his bravery and his decision making, saying that he enjoys a large flexibility in all issues that concern the area, adding before leaving Cairo after his participation in the second conference for head of the European - Mediterranean parliaments in Alexandria - that Egypt has a special international position and has an important and effective role in the peace process. He stated that the current year will witness signing an agreement between Israel and Palestine on establishing a Palestinian state and Israel will be the first country to recognize this state.
