Syria-Iraq, Economics, 5/26/2000
The trade volume between Iraq and Syria is $ 400 million dollars annually, formal statistic shows.
The data issued along the current visit of Iraqi trade minister Mohammed Mahdi Saleh to Damascus shows that there are discussions for developing the volume of the bilateral trade especially through using Syrian harbors for exports of Iraqi products as well as receiving Iraqi imports.
Other discussions deal with reopening the petroleum pipeline between Mawsel and Tartous as soon as repair work for the pipeline is done at locations inside both states.
