EU welcomes Israel's withdrawal from South Lebanon

The European Commission on Wednesday welcomed the withdrawal of the Israeli forces from South Lebanon.
AFP said that a statement released by the EU commission in Brussels has stressed the need that the Lebanese authorities will assume their responsibilities in all south Lebanon, a matter which would enable the international community to take part in rebuilding and rehabilitation of South Lebanon, SANA reported.
The statement added that the European Commission will send very soon a mission to estimate the necessary requirements for re-building South Lebanon.
