Canada renews backing to Morocco's world cup bid
Morocco-Canada, Sports, 5/23/2000

Canada on Monday renewed full backing to Morocco's bid to host the 2006 World Cup. Canada will spare no effort to back the Moroccan bid, Canadian secretary of state for sports, Denis Coderre, said at a meeting in Rabat with Moroccan youth and sports minister, Ahmed Moussaoui.

The Canadian official arrived in Morocco on Monday for talks with Moroccan officials on ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in matters of sports.

Morocco is campaigning against South Africa, Brazil, England and Germany to host the 2006 World Cup.

The FIFA executive committee will select the host country early next July.
