Baghdad says 1300687 dead so far due to sanctions

Iraqi foreign ministry Mohammed Saeed El-Sahaf asked Arab League Secretary General Esmat El-Maguid to move to lift the sanction on Baghdad.

El-Sahaf said that more than 8000 Iraqis were killed in April due to the imposed sanctions on Iraq which makes the number of the victims 1300687 due to the imposed sanctions by U.N on Iraq since 1990.

The Iraqi note said that 3486 child died during last month of lung diseases and malnutrition, adding that 2755 adults died due to high blood pressure and cancer which increased the number of those dead from different diseases in April to 8241 persons.
