Kuwaiti consent for more witnesses in Col. Ala Hussein Ali trial

The Kuwaiti court of appeals agreed to the demand of the lawyer of Col. Ala Hussein Ali who headed of the temporary Kuwaiti government during the Iraqi occupation of Kuwait - by summoning Kuwait's ambassadors at Norway, Jordan and Turkey to hear testimonies concerning the Hussein Ali's attempts to present a petition through them to enter into the country in the past years.
During the trial, Hussein asserted that he returned back to Kuwait for his confidence in impartiality of the judiciary system despite having all the means to live in Norway which granted him the right of asylum.
The court responded to the lawyers' demand to summon Ahmed El-Khaled El-Sabah and Salem Fahd El-Salem as witnesses who were captives during the Iraqi invasion and who had met the Hussein Ali at the time.
It is expected that the Kuwaiti court will summon witnesses in the coming days. The Kuwaiti court of appeals supported the death sentence against Hussein Ali.
