Continuing buildup of cooperation between Sudan and Egypt

Sudan's ambassador in Cairo Ahmed Abd El-Halim said that preparatory work is being done for the coming supreme joint committee to promote cooperation in many fields between Sudan and Egypt.
The meetings headed by Egyptian assistant foreign minister Mostafa El-Fekil and the Sudanese under secretary of the foreign ministry Abd El-Karim Fadl El-Allah cover steps for supporting the economic, agricultural, industrial, energy, cultural activity, and education besides renewing some existing agreements between the two states.
He added following the meeting with El-Feki that there is a general trend toward ending up disputes including the issue of Egyptian properties by the time the supreme joint committee meet by reaching a comprise concerning it.
Whether Sudan asked for Egyptian support for solving the case of the Eritrean refugees who are escaping the war between Eritrea and Ethiopia, Abd El-Halim said "Sudan feels sorrow for continuing this war and hopes that it stop immediately peacefully, adding that he discussed with the officials in Egypt on cooperation in supporting the refugees and with the Arab League and the African countries."
