Brunei to support education of Thai Muslims

Brunei will continue to support education of Thai Muslim students and will grant them scholarships to study in Brunei university and technological institutes, visiting Crown Prince of Brunei, Prince Haja Al-Muhtadee Billah, has pledged.

According to Thai news agency TNA, Prince Haja discussed the issue with Thai Prime Minister Chuan Leekpai and Foreign Minister Surin Pitsuwan upon his arrival in Bangkok on Sunday, starting his four-day official visit here as the guest of the Thai government.

Presently, there are nearly 20 Thai Muslim students studying in higher educational institutes, in Brunei, including university, and technological and nursing colleges.
