Morocco attends Euro- Mediterranean Speakers Congress

Morocco will participate in the 2nd congress of speakers of Euro- Mediterranean parliaments, scheduled this May 23-24 in Alexandria, Egypt.

The meeting, held in implementation of the Barcelona declaration, will examine issues related to the fight of terrorism and organized crime, transfer of technologies, investments, Meda program, trade exchanges, trade liberalization and implementation of the GATT accords.

Means to promote cultural dialogue between civilizations and impact of globalization on national cultures and immigration and employment-related problems are also on the agenda.

The speakers of the two chambers of the Moroccan Parliament, Mohamed Jalal Essaid and Abdelouahed Radi, will take part the meeting.

The Alexandria meeting will sideline a meeting of the contact group of the Euro-Mediterranean forum of women parliamentarians. The contact group comprises Morocco, Egypt, Italy, the United Kingdom and Tunisia.
