Syrian cabinet for eliminating corruption in ministries

The Syrian Cabinet on Tuesday held a meeting, chaired by Premier Muhammad Mustafa Miro where it approved the bill for ratifying naval cooperation with the government of Sudan.

The Syrian cabinet ministers discussed the mechanism which organizes the relation between the central committee for inspection and audition and sides concerned as well as the relations between workers at the commission and workers in these sides. Special stress was laid on the importance of anticipated inspection at various ministries, establishments and public companies so as to eliminate mistakes.

The Cabinet ministers also discussed among other things means of ensuring social and economic progress and measures that should be taken following the issuance of the state's general budget for the year 2000 especially issues on "unemployment, new job opportunities creation, improve and develop work conditions, exploit all potentials of citizens and make all effective contributions to building the homeland.

The ministers listened to explanations made by the deputy premier for services on the results of meetings of the services committee in its two recent session.

The ministers, moreover, discussed the project provides for having the ministry of defense as a supervisor for the veteran society and the victims of war instead of the ministry of labor and social affairs.

The memorandum of the ministry of tourism on the situation of the ministry and his proposal to this effect was discussed.

The ministers also listened to similar explanations made by the deputy premier for economic affairs on results of the meetings of the economic committee during which 65 contracts were reviewed.
