The Arab League has expressed strong concern over the refusal of the Greek President and members of the accompanying delegation to receive Palestinian figures representing Jerusalem during his visit to the occupied city while he met at the same time the Israeli mayor of the city.

In press statements the Arab League Secretary General Abdul Meguid made in Cairo on Tuesday after he had summoned on the Greek ambassador to Cairo George Macopolis, he said he told the Greek ambassador to inform his government on the great concern of the Arab League for Greece's position, as ( the Greek President ) frankly violated UN Security Council resolutions which consider Jerusalem as occupied Arab territories, besides his violation of the traditional stand taken by the European Union which is always careful to abide by international legitimacy resolution concerning Jerusalem.

The Arab League chief also reminded that Greece stances had been always careful to backing Arab stances especially regarding the question of Palestine.

The Arab League chief stressed that the Greek stand is not in the interest of Greece nor the traditional Greek-Arab relations.
