UN announces another meeting on Sahara next June

"Parties to the Sahara conflict will meet again early June to look for a rapid and lasting solution to their dispute," said Monday the UN secretary general's spokesman, Fred Eckard.
The UN spokesman gave no details on the exact date and venue of the meeting.
On Sunday, a meeting comprising delegates of Morocco, the secessionist Polisario group, Algeria and Mauritania was held at the initiative of UN secretary general special envoy for the Sahara, James Baker, who toured the region last month.
The Moroccan delegation was led by minister of foreign affairs and cooperation, Mohamed Benaissa, and included interior minister, Ahmed El Midaoui, Morocco's delegate to the UN Ahmed Snoussi, coordinator with the UN mission for the referendum in the Sahara "MINURSO," Mohamed Loulichki, Morocco's roving ambassador, Brahim Hakim, the representative of Laayoune at the Parliament and chairman of the city's municipal council, Khalli Hana Ould Rachid and other officials.
