Palestinian Hamas leader disappears
Palestine, Politics, 5/15/2000
Confusion prevails in the Palestinian areas regarding the uncertainty of a possible disappearance of Mohammed Deif who is one of the high ranking leaders in the Islamic resistance movement Hamas.
Palestinian sources said that the Palestinian security forces arrested him.
While a security source negated detaining Mohammed Deif saying the one person being detained is another person by the same name.
It is worth mentioning that Israel asked the Palestinian authorities to hand over Mohammed Deif for being the master mind to a series of suicid bomb explosions in year 1996.
While a source from Hamas asserted that there is great doubt that the Israeli Mosad might have kidnaped Deif.
