Arab League statements on Palestine partition anniversary
Regional-Israel, Politics, 5/15/2000

The Arab League (AL) has asserted that Israel is still pursuing its aggressive and colonialist policy towards occupied Palestine and the occupied Syrian Golan and against the Lebanese territories, and therefore violating all international legitimacy resolutions.

In a statement issues in Cairo on Sunday on Palestine's partition anniversary (1948), the AL said the Israeli force and hegemony will only increase the persistence of the Arab people to restore back their rights to Israel's complete withdrawal from the Golan Until June, border lines of 1967, and from South Lebanon and the Palestinian territories in implementation of UN security council resolutions no 242, 338 and 425.

The AL called on the international community to impose the international legitimacy will and put an end to the Israeli deception in the peace process so as to achieve a just and comprehensive peace according to the land for peace formula.

The AL statement explained that Israel's escape from the requirements of the peace process would only result in further Arab resistance to the policy Israel seeks to impose on the Arabs.
