Morroco prepares consumer protection laws

Moroccan Premier Abderrahmane Youssoufi announced the government is currently preparing laws to protect consumers, in coordination with all concerned sides.
In a speech read out on his behalf by territory development, town planning and housing minister, Mohamed El Yazghi, at the 4th congress of small and medium-sized trade and craft enterprises' union, Youssoufi underscored the importance of protecting the consumers health and information rights.
He added that the recent food intoxication cases caused by unsafe foodstuffs should incite producers, tradesmen, consumers and competent authorities to shoulder their responsibility and see to a good management of the production chain.
