John Garang: I call for a new unified Sudan and not for separation

John Garang, Leader of Sudanese People's Liberation Army (SPLA) in an interview with the Egyptian al-Ahram daily published today - asked the ruling regime in Sudan to settle on one authority, by ending the conflict that currently exists between the Sudanese president and Hassan al-Torabi, rejecting racism, canceling the constitution and the laws that were formally issued as well as holding open elections for a national government with the participation of all powers and activities to lay the foundation for a new Sudan.
