Libya voices backing to Morocco's legitimate claims over two Spanish occupied cities
Libya-Morocco, Politics, 5/11/2000
The Libyan movement of revolutionary committees renewed backing to Morocco's struggle to retrieve Sebta and Mellilia, two northern cities still under Spanish rule.
The backing was voiced at a meeting held last week in Tripoli between the Libyan movement and a delegation of the Moroccan Istiqlal Party, led by the party's secretary-general, Abbas El-Fassi.
The two sides also urged Maghreban countries to activate the Arab Maghreb Union (UMA, mustering Algeria, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco and Tunisia).
