Egyptian organization for human rights denounces the campaign raised against novel "A Banquet of Seaweed"

The Egyptian organization for human rights denounced yesterday the campaign raised against the novel "A Banquet of Seaweed" written by Syrian writer Haider Haider.
The organization's statement said the organization feels sorry for the violent language used in this campaign, which included accusations of treason and apostasy to the extent of direct instigation of attacks against the writer and officials by publishing their names in the newspapers.
Security sources said that more than 50 students were arrested and presented to the prosecution to be interrogated after clashes which started on Sunday evening.
